Our impact
Volunteers Impact Measurement
Kabubu organizes over thirty sports activities in Paris, Lyon and Strasbourg some of which are dedicated to the women of our community.
This impact measurement is based on data collected in September 2024 from volunteer coaches at the association's three branches in Paris, Strasbourg, and Lyon.
Background
Kabubu has 80 volunteers in its three branches. Thanks to them, we can offer a wide range of weekly sports activities. They joined Kabubu with the aim of creating inclusive meeting places for local and exiled people. Their role is to organize and run the sports sessions, helping to create social links. Today, our volunteer coaches need : - Make a commitment to changing attitudes - Feel valued in their actions - Combat the social isolation of exiled people - Improve their skills

Merci d'exister. »

Our analysis
This analysis revealed that 35.1% of our volunteers are migrants (exiles and non-exiles), while the remainder are French citizens. They are all committed to Kabubu's goal of making our society more inclusive for exiled people. Our focus for 2025 is to promote the involvement of exiled people in Kabubu's activities. To this end, we intend to pursue our partnerships with organizations working with exiles, to raise awareness of the possibility of volunteering with Kabubu. We are also working on setting up a volunteer coach training course to facilitate and support volunteer involvement in our sports activities. We also found that 54.5% of our volunteers were former participants who wanted to get more involved in the Kabubu project. This figure is remarkable for us, as it testifies to the commitment and attachment of participants to the values of the Kabubu project. Kabubu Paris (created in 2018): 68.4% of Paris volunteers have been involved for more than a year. We welcomed over 30% new volunteers in 2024. Paris shows a remarkable stability in volunteer commitment, testifying to a high level of loyalty. Welcoming 30% new volunteers in 2024 shows that the association continues to renew itself while maintaining a solid base of long-standing volunteers. Kabubu Lyon (created in 2020): 55% of volunteers in Lyon have been involved for more than a year. We welcomed 45% new volunteers in 2024. Lyon shows a good balance between retaining volunteers and integrating new ones. Welcoming 45% new volunteers in 2024 is a sign of an effective strategy to attract and integrate new members. Kabubu Strasbourg (created in 2022): 31.6% of Strasbourg volunteers have been involved for more than a year. We welcomed 68.4% new volunteers in 2024. As a newer branch, Strasbourg naturally has fewer long-term volunteers. However, the arrival of 68.4% new volunteers in 2024 reflects effective communication and a strong appeal to join Kabubu. In terms of distribution channels, word of mouth far outweighs other ways of discovering Kabubu, testifying to Kabubu's good reputation and recommendation. We're proud of this, as it reflects the satisfaction and commitment of current members who share their experience.

Our analysis
Over 80% of our volunteers feel that the sporting activities have helped to forge links between participants. This figure testifies to the achievement of some of our objectives, such as combating isolation, creating links between local exiles and creating a Kabubu community. At Kabubu, we attach great importance to the training of the volunteers who support our community members, and this graph shows that 67.6% of our volunteers have been trained. This illustrates not only our commitment to the personal development of volunteers, but also our desire to extend this impact by offering vocational training in the field of sport, aimed at people benefiting from international protection. These courses help to boost their employability, while promoting sporting skills as a lever for integration and social inclusion. Volunteering with Kabubu can thus be seen as a gateway to a career in the world of sport. The three main skills acquired by volunteers are : - Supervising and leading sports activities (88.5%). This figure is consistent with the sporting nature of Kabubu's activities, and reflects the acquisition of technical skills directly linked to their role within the association. These skills can easily be applied in other contexts (professional or personal). - Adaptability to different types of audience (76.9%). This skill reflects the volunteers' experience in intercultural and diversified environments, with audiences from a variety of backgrounds. This shows the richness of human relations at Kabubu, and the ability of volunteers to evolve in an inclusive environment. - Empowerment (65.4%). This indicator testifies to their commitment and autonomy in the missions they carry out. Kabubu encourages volunteers to take the initiative and be agents of change. Some 90% of all volunteers say they feel useful in creating a more inclusive society for exiled people. This figure testifies to the volunteers' strong support for Kabubu's values. This feeling of being useful is an important factor in retaining our volunteers over the long term, as it boosts their self-confidence and motivation. It is also an indicator of Kabubu's success in raising awareness.

Our analysis
86.5% of volunteers find that the skills they acquire through their missions have been useful in their professional and personal lives. This testifies to the formative impact of Kabubu's activities. This indicator gives meaning to the volunteer experience and, above all, demonstrates that the skills acquired within Kabubu are transferable to other environments. Kabubu places great importance on creating a close-knit community, and this is reflected in the sense of belonging highlighted in this graph. Indeed, 84% of volunteers say they feel part of a team. This reflects Kabubu's efforts to create a friendly community. This figure is important if we hope to retain committed volunteers, as a strong community fosters involvement and motivation. Finally, it encourages us to continue offering festive events to create links within our community. 77% of volunteers express a desire to become more involved in the association, revealing a strong potential for the future. This figure also testifies to the quality of the volunteer experience at Kabubu, perceived as enriching and motivating, encouraging greater commitment. This result is very encouraging for us, illustrating our investment and our desire to create a space where volunteers feel useful and valued.
