Our impact
Community Impact Measurement
Kabubu organizes weekly sports activities in Paris, Lyon and Strasbourg with the aim of creating social links between exiles and local people.
This impact measurement is based on data collected in May 2025 from participants in sports activities at the association's three branches in Paris, Lyon and Strasbourg.
Our participants
The association's sports activities bring together two types of participants: exiles and locals.
Exiled participants: people who have migrated and who want to practice sports in a supportive environment where they feel comfortable, can meet new people, learn French, take time for themselves, and take their minds off things.
Local participants: French people (or long-term residents of France) who are sensitive to the issue of inclusion or, conversely, very distant from it. They want to play sports, meet new people, and practice in a supportive and inclusive environment. This also applies to people who cannot play sports in a club and therefore turn to free alternatives.

Merci d'exister. »

Our analysis
The data collected shows that 56.8% of our participants are migrants, whether in a situation of exile or not, and 43.2% are French citizens. This reflects the social and cultural mix within our activities, as well as our ability to create truly inclusive spaces, where everyone is welcome, whatever their background. Kabubu Paris (created in 2018): 50% of Paris respondents have been participating in activities for more than six months, among them 8.8% have been participating for more than 3 years. Paris shows a high level of continuity in participants' practice, demonstrating loyalty. The 50% increase in new participants in the first half of 2025 shows that the association continues to attract new people, while maintaining a solid base of long-standing participants. Kabubu Lyon (created in 2020): 43.3% of Lyon respondents have been taking part in activities for over six months, including 20.3% for over a year. Lyon shows a good balance between loyalty and the integration of new practitioners. The fact that 56.7% of new members joined in the first half of 2025 is a sign of effective communication to attract and integrate new members. Kabubu Strasbourg (created in 2022): 39.7% of respondents in Strasbourg have been taking part for more than six months. As a newer branch, Strasbourg naturally has fewer former practitioners. However, the arrival of 60.3% new members in the first half of 2025 reflects effective communication and a strong attraction to join Kabubu. Unsurprisingly, the main motivation for taking part in Kabubu's sports activities is to practice sport. 70% of respondents say they want to meet new people, which shows that our activities meet a dual need: to exercise physically, but also to create social links. This confirms that sport is a powerful lever for inclusion and encounters for exiles and French citizens alike.

Our analysis
72.1% of respondents say they take part in a Kabubu activity at least once a week. This figure reflects the accessibility of sporting activities and the high level of satisfaction of the majority of participants. Kabubu sessions are an integral part of participants' daily lives. Kabubu's four main benefits for participants are ..: - Playing sports (90.8%): this figure is consistent with the motivations expected by the respondents, as well as with their regularity within the weekly activities. - Improved physical and mental health (70.7%): this indicator shows that Kabubu's activities have a positive impact on the overall health and well-being of participants, over and above the simple practice of sport. - Meeting other people (70.3%): this contribution reflects participants' experience of intercultural and diversified environments that facilitate social ties. In this way, we can see the richness of human relations within Kabubu. - Developing skills (40.2%): this percentage demonstrates that Kabubu's activities enable the development of sporting, social and organizational skills, thus boosting participants' self-confidence. This testifies to the association's training role. Over 53% of exiled/non-exiled people maintain contacts outside Kabubu's activities. This figure testifies to the achievement of some of our objectives, such as combating isolation, creating links between local exiles and non-exiles, and creating a Kabubu community. 30% of the other respondents would like to create links outside the activities. Among all respondents, 93.4% said they would recommend Kabubu to friends and family. This figure reflects the participants' strong support for Kabubu's projects and values, as well as their desire to share these moments with their friends and family.

Our analysis
76.9% of exiled/non-exiled respondents feel that their fluency in French has improved thanks to their participation in Kabubu's activities. This is partly due to the cultural mix and the creation of links within the association. Kabubu places great importance on creating a close-knit community, and this is reflected in the sense of belonging highlighted in this graph. Indeed, 88.2% of participants say they feel part of a group. This reflects Kabubu's efforts to create a friendly community. This figure is important for maintaining the loyalty and motivation of our participants. Finally, it encourages us to continue offering festive and sporting events to create links within our community. 60.7% of participants expressed a desire to get involved in the association as volunteers, revealing a strong potential for the future.
